Important COVID-19 Travel Information
Given the evolving nature of the COVID-19 global pandemic, we are committed to providing up-to-date information to help you make informed travel insurance decisions.
If you are considering a plan that includes Emergency Medical coverage:
Our Emergency Medical coverage* provides for medical expenses related to COVID-19 or its variants provided that there are no travel advisories (avoid all non-essential travel and avoid all travel) issued by the Canadian government related to COVID-19 or its variants for your destination on the date you depart on your trip.
If you are considering a plan that includes Trip Cancellation and Interruption coverage:
RBC Insurance will not pay Trip Cancellation or Trip Interruption insurance claims if you are required to cancel or interrupt your trip for a reason related to COVID-19 or its variants, except in the following circumstances*:
- Your emergency medical condition due to contracting COVID-19 or its variants that prevents you from travelling as planned (a medical certificate completed by a physician is required).
- The emergency medical condition of your spouse and/or child(ren) due to contracting COVID-19 or its variants that prevents you from travelling as planned (a medical certificate completed by a physician is required).
Please visit our COVID-19 page for further information about travel, advisories and travel insurance coverage.
*All claims are subject to the terms and conditions of the certificate.
